Are you a "Social Butterfly"?

Recently, news reported that Malaysian spent at least an hour on social networking sites and 50 percent of the population in Malaysia owns a Facebook account. The government takes it as a good sign as it makes Malaysian an ICT savvy and it brings and unites the nation. The question today is that are you a social butterfly? I will tell you more...

(image obtained from www.dezignus.com)

The term “social butterfly” has historically referred to someone who flits from party to party. Today, it is the era of the online social butterflies; people who hop from one social networking site to another to keep up with the latest across all their diverse social circles. You can consider yourself an online social butterfly if you meet the below criteria.

1. Accounts!
Have hundreds of friends and contacts across several social networking groups such as Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, LinkedIn, Windows Live and Friendster. -Spend more than two hours a day flitting across different social networks to keep track of friends’ updates; share your updates with the community; download applications; upload photos; take a stab at quizzes; customise your page and much more.

2. Log In!
Can’t resist logging on to a social network via your PC, laptop or mobile phone any time you have a few minutes to spare. -Often log on to your social networks for a “quick peek” while you are at work (or when you’re supposed to be doing work!).

3. Disconnected!
Feel disconnected if you haven’t logged on to your different social networks for a day. A study on online behaviour called Digital World, Digital Life by research firm TNS found that Asians lead the way when it comes to spending time online. Chinese respondents aged under 25 were found to spend 50 per cent of their leisure time online, while students in general spent 39 per cent of their leisure time online, a higher percentage compared to any other group.

So, do you meet the above requirements? And proud to call yourself a SOCIAL BUTTERFLY?

Signing off,
Justin

The result for week 8's poll shown that most pet owners will not sign up a Social Networking sites for their own pets. This might be due to certain reasons such as they find there is no such need in creating a social networking site for their pet which does not even know how to use the internet.

Out of 11 respondents, 3 of them had chosen the answer yes which is willing to create an online profiule for their pets, while 2 out of 11 respondents are unsure whether to have a social networking site account for their pets. The majority which is 7 respondents out of a total of 11 had firmly chosen their answer which is not to sign up a social networking site for their pets.

Maybe some pet owners find it kiddy and weird to have a social networking site for their pet but their pet do not even know how to use the internet.

After all, it will be still the owner whom does the social networking and for their own purpose. Some are willing to sign up an online profile for their pets due to they find it interesting for pets to network online.
If the source is correct, by April, there will be a social networking site created only for OBJECTS. Yes! O-B-J-E-C-T-S.. Mouse, mouse pet, fan, table or even your cup will now go online, having their own online profile to make friends and social network with other mouse or objects..?? What do you think?
